The last two days we have been making 6 wooden crossbows, ash reenactment bows and Fleming strings for a trade customer. We also made a linnen string for a customer too. Made the bolt steadies for the crossbows and blued them in oil to make then look better. Changed the design slightly, much happier with the product now.
Made some feather burners last week. Results are pretty good so will be doing some more shapes and sizes this week.
It just goes to show that insuring your parcel is worthwhile. If I hadn't then I would be £370 worse off. The parcel came back folded in half and we pack them well! The bow was completely broken into 2 pieces. God knows how they did it.
94#@32" laminate warbow for Alex Wirtz in Poland. Maple back, purpleheart core and Ipe belly. Sending out on courier today. Came out lovely 😊 Still has loads of forward set in the limbs but bends full compass.
